Highly endowed award honors best German ICO graduates – reception for all ICO Fellows

For the first time this year, the prestigious “Dr. Rolf M. Schwiete ICO Examination Award” will go to the best German candidates in the four exams. The awards, which are endowed with a prize of 5,000 euros each, will be presented at the DOG. The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 15.00 to 16.15 pm in the Paris Room.

Committed to promoting excellence in ophthalmology, the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) sets an international standard for written ophthalmology exams with its annual examination. In Germany there are currently four ICO test centers at locations in Düsseldorf, Homburg/Saar, Cologne, and Leipzig. Exams are held in the four categories Basic Science, Theoretical Optics & Refraction, Clinical Science, and Advanced (FICO) Examination. The next ICO Advanced (FICO) Examination is scheduled for October 20, 2016. Worldwide, there are 130 test centers in 80 countries.

All ICO exam graduates as well as fellows and hosts of the ICO Fellowship Program are cordially invited to a reception during the DOG on Friday, September 30, from noon to 13.15 at C3. DOG admission is free for ICO Fellows.
