Pseudophakic rhegmatogenous retinal detachment, (A few hints to the blame game)

The keynote lecture will cover the epidemiology of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment, its risk factors and the impact of cataract surgery on the occurrence of retinal detachment in the individual patient, and in the population at large. The impact on vitrectomy for macular diseases on the risk of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment will also be briefly discussed. The results of surgery for pseudophakic retinal detachment will be described on the basis of data from the National Patient Registry.

In his keynote lecture Professor Morten Dornonville de la Cour will cover the epidemiology of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment, its risk factors and the impact of cataract surgery on the occurrence of retinal detachment in the individual patient, and in the population at large. Morten Dornonville de la Cour is Professor for Ophthalmic Surgery at the University of Copenhagen and Director of the Department for Ophthalmology at the Glostrup Hospital. He is one of the internationally outstanding researchers in the field of retinal diseases, including particular retinal detachment and diabetic retinopathy. Dornonville de la Cour has published over 161 scientific publications and, in addition, he has authored twelve books and book chapters.
